Walden Barnett is a devising artist and theater maker based out of Seattle, WA. His work and interests intersect on collaborative generative movement, American folk music traditions, site-specific work, and lowering barriers to connection and play. Walden is additionally an active freelance theatre reviewer in the Seattle area who loves to uplift fringe and community productions as well as experimental and developmental work.
Walden and his collaborators collectively produce as Don't Panic Panic, a form-flexible DIY performance project that most recently created Phoenix, Firefly, and the Endless Highway. Walden's original music project, Optimistic Apocalyptic, combines poetic body horror with surreal memoir.
A few reasons! Some of the reasons include that Neocities is free for me to use, I code the entire website from scratch, and that I care about what you think of a website that isn't pretty but still delivers all the necessary information. Additionally, this format is highly legible, is more screen-reader friendly, and doesn't collect data about my words or person.
